Our Declaration of Unity

This we owe to A.A.'s future; to place our common welfare first; to keep our fellowship united. For on A.A. unity depend our lives, and the lives of those to come.

Responsibility Statement

I am responsible, when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there, and for that I am responsible.

QUARTERLY ZOOM COMMITMENT ROLES

(Required Sobriety Length)


MEETING CHAIR 

(1 year sobriety, commitment term is for the quarter)


Arrives by 6:00 am, Chair and secretary determine who will open the meeting.

 

Makes sure meeting format is followed

 

For Thursday-Sunday meetings, obtains speaker, preferably one week in advance and with a backup speaker lined up should the original speaker be unable to get onto zoom

 

Assigns readers for Preamble/Blue Card etc.

 

Informs incoming speaker of the format of meeting & introduces speaker. 

 

Stays for the fellowship after the meeting and makes sure not to close meeting until everyone has agreed to leave (can reassign host if necessary to leave prior to fellowship concluding)

 

Coordinate with group chair prior day to arrange a substitute if commitment cannot be met

 

 

MEETING SECRETARY

(90 days sobriety, commitment term is for the quarter)


Chair and secretary determine who will open the meeting.


Arrives at the meeting by 6:00 to coordinate with chair.  Ensure to be assigned as “co-host” by chair to enable screen sharing.

 

Posts via screen share all relative reading material; Preamble, Blue Card, daily readings

 

Keeps track of where readings/chapters/promises, etc. left off to pick up appropriately the next week.

 

Provides email information for attendees requiring attendance proof and donation information

 

Coordinate with meeting chair prior day to arrange substitute if commitment cannot be met

 

 

GATEKEEPER

(30 days sobriety, commitment term is for the quarter)


Arrives at meeting by 6:15 to be made “co-host” and coordinate with host and co-gate keeper

 

Beginning at 6:15, admits attendees in waiting room per the direction of host and coordination with co-gatekeeper

 

Throughout meeting scans attendees for suspicious activity, inappropriate video/chat, and removes inappropriate attendees as necessary. 


Mutes participants as needed. Lowers hands as needed. Manages other meeting security items as they arise.

 

Coordinates with meeting chair prior day to arrange substitute if commitment cannot be met



TIMEKEEPER

(1 day sobriety, commitment term is for the quarter)


Arrives at meeting by 6:25 to be made “co-host” and coordinate with host and co-gate keeper

 

Once the meeting opens to individual shares a timer set for 2 minutes is started. At 2 minutes the timer unmutes themselves and plays beeping sound (think egg timer) to alert person sharing that their 2 minutes is up.

 

Coordinates with meeting chair prior day to arrange substitute if commitment cannot be met

  


GROUP COMMITMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

ANNIVERSARY MEETING CHAIR

(1 year sobriety, 1 Year commitment)


During current month, make note of celebrants that month and ascertain if they want to celebrate in the meeting and if so, who will be giving them their coin

 

Arrives at meeting by 6:00 to make sure all celebrants and presenters are present

 

Opens the meeting using the Friday opening statement for Anniversary Meeting (open meeting)

 

Introduces the celebrants (coin givers) in order of sobriety date, least amount of time first

 

If there is time after all celebrants speak, chair opens the meeting for raise of hands sharing, reminding everyone it is an open meeting.


GROUP CHAIR

(1 year sobriety must be nominated and group approved, 1 Year commitment)


Responsible for running the business meeting

Maintain group membership list and access it when needed

Maintain daily meeting materials and website and distribute/communicate with meeting chairs and secretaries.


ALTERNATE GROUP CHAIR 

(1 year sobriety, 1 Year commitment)


Alternate group chair to support group chair and fill in if needed


GROUP SECRETARY

(1 year sobriety, 1 Year commitment)


Maintain meeting attendance verification email account

Manage access to the group membership list

Take notes for business meetings
Meeting Minutes and reports


Online Intergroup Representative - OIAA 

(1 year sobriety, 2 year term, must be nominated and group approved)


Represents the group in relation to Online Intergroup of AA and all related duties

Gives monthly report at the business meeting

TREASURER

Maintains all group finances
